Civivas is a community decision-support and mapping platform. Its maps, boundaries, demographic indicators, election information, polling-place information, facility locations, reports, analytics, and other outputs are informational and analytical aids. They are not official determinations by a government agency.
Source limitations
Civivas may use federal, state, county, municipal, election-authority, Census, GIS, open-data, licensed, and other sources. Those sources can contain errors, omissions, stale records, inconsistent schemas, generalized geometry, geocoding errors, or changes that have not yet propagated to Civivas.
Boundary limitations
Political, administrative, Census, precinct, ward, commissioner, school, and other boundaries can change and may differ by effective date, election, source, or legal purpose. Visual boundary placement and labels should not be treated as a legal survey or authoritative legal description.
Demographic and statistical limitations
Demographic and socioeconomic measures may be estimates, samples, modeled values, aggregated values, or subject to margins of error and disclosure-avoidance techniques. Small-area estimates can be especially uncertain.
Polling-place and election information
Polling locations, hours, eligibility rules, ballot information, election dates, and district assignments can change. Before voting or advising another person where or how to vote, verify current information directly with the responsible election authority or official government source.
Facilities and points of interest
Schools, hospitals, nursing facilities, police/fire locations, worship locations, city halls, and other facilities can move, close, change names, or be geocoded imprecisely. For emergency or time-sensitive needs, use the responsible official service rather than relying on Civivas.
No professional advice
Civivas does not provide legal, medical, financial, engineering, surveying, emergency-response, or other regulated professional advice.
No guaranteed completeness
A missing feature, facility, person, address, jurisdiction, record, or data point does not establish that it does not exist. A displayed item does not establish present accuracy or official status.
Independent verification
Users are responsible for independently verifying information before making consequential, legal, financial, electoral, operational, safety, or public-facing decisions.
